My Poetry

My name is Lydia. I am 23, and a college student. This is my poetry. I am going to go through all the poetry have written throughout my lifetime and select the best ones to publish in a book along with any new ones I write during this journey.

A Proud Stranger but a fellow student.

I just want everyone in the tumblr world to kno that I am proud of everyone on this earth who has sought after higher education and completed it. Despite the tragedies and setbacks I have faced, it has seemed to be one thing after the other but yet I KNEW that deep down in my heart I COULD not WOULD not give up. I had to do this for myself and no one else no matter what the cost. And guess what I graduated. I got my Associate’s degree. It may not seem like much for some but it IS in fact a HUGE step. You are STILL a college graduate regardless. And for so long..after setback after setback, over and over again i never thought it would happen.And yet here I am. I am proud of those who seek out and complete higher education because our future is so bright. There are so many talented and brilliant people. Our world will be so much greater because of those who do not give up no matter what.
